Positive News Stories

11th June 2021

We love it when we’re featured in news stories is it’s always great to see that people are as impressed by our school and students as we are. We recently published an ‘In The Media’ page on our website (check it out here), and, to celebrate, thought we’d share three of our favourite articles from the past two years.

  1. After the opening of our new Business and Innovation Centre, The Northern Echo shared a fantastically positive news story entitled ‘Innovative business centre proves a hit for Dales teens’. If you’d like to read more about the Sixth Form course, you can read about it here, or access the article in The Northern Echo here.

  1. In October last year, Richmondshire Today wrote about student Molly Birch and her impressive work in support of Children in Need charities, including Support Dog which helped her to secure a physical assistance dog to help with the effects of her cerebral palsy. She was featured on the annual BBC Countryfile Ramble with her dog Chess, which she attended virtually over Zoom. You can read the article here.

  1. After the uncertainty of last year, our most recent exam season was still a huge success, with published articles including ‘Wensleydale School and Sixth Form celebrates students’ success’ (read it in Richmondshire Today, here) and ‘Celebrations for students after months of exam uncertainty’ (read it in the Darlington and Stockton Times, here). We were incredibly pleased with our students’ success last results day and are looking forward to celebrating this year’s Year 11s and 13s hard work.

Again, our new ‘In The Media’ page can be found here, and houses the news stories that Wensleydale School has been featured in.
