This week I have been giving assemblies to all year groups about respect.
Over the last few weeks we have tightened up on uniform, poor language and lateness to lessons, which are demonstrations of respect (or not) to our community and each other . A few years ago we reduced our 10 key behaviours to just 3 : Positive, Hardworking and Respectful and we are working hard to ensure these are demonstrated by everyone in our school.
Respect is vital to our sense of wellbeing, it gives a positive feeling of esteem for a person and it is reflected back when we show respect through our actions- something as simple as holding a door open is a true mark of respect. Respect can be defined as allowing yourself and others to do and be their best. So the value of respect in our school cannot be undersold.
- walk sensibly in corridors
- hold the door open for people
- keep voices down in corridors
- have our mobile phones silent and in bags
- not chew gum
- never push or shove
- report to staff if visitors have no ID badge
- look after our facilities, classrooms and toilets
- being Positive, Hardworking and Respectful.
