Our governors are a dedicated and experienced group of educationalists, local business people and community representatives who are passionate about helping the school go from strength to strength.

 

Roger Harrison-Topham Coopted Governor

Roger Harrison-Topham FCA, MA has represented the Middle Dales Division (the Leyburn area) on North Yorkshire County Council and is a member of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority. He read modern history at Oxford, and had a career as a chartered accountant, investment banker and civil servant.

Julia Polley Headteacher

Julia turned to teaching after a successful military career as an RAF Officer. Passionate about young people she became our Headteacher after moving to the area in 2015.

Jane Ritchie MBE LA Governor

Jane is a retired Careers Officer, who became an Education Business Partnership Manager for Darlington and Durham.

Sharon Watkins Parent Governor

Sharon has over 25 years of experience of implementing and supporting finance systems at a global level, she started her own company almost 8 years ago providing accountancy and bookkeeping services in addition to complete finance solutions not only to small, local businesses but also to larger, corporate companies.

Rebecca Carlin Chair

Rebecca has worked in social Housing for 26 years. She is Head of Communications for a local housing association

Robert Spensley Parent Governor

Is a parent governor.

Julie Cooper Staff Governor

As the new Staff Governor, Julie has worked for the school for 12 years and had numerous roles including
English TA and library technician . Her current role is Attendance and Behaviour officer.
