MATHS MAESTROS

29 Year 9 and 10 students recently sat the UK Intermediate Maths Challenge.

The Intermediate Mathematical Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at students across the UK. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems on the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience.

Of the 29 entrants, 3 achieved a silver award and 3 a bronze award.  The highest achiever in Y9 was Joshua Roper with a bronze award, whilst Henry Wiltshire came top in Y10 and also achieved a silver award.  Maddie Hey and Sam Roper also achieved silver awards in Year 10.

Well done to everyone who took part in the challenge.
