GCSE celebrations at Wensleydale School

12th August 2021

This morning, we were so excited to welcome our Year 11s into school to collect their GCSE results. It was an incredibly successful day, with 73% of students achieve Grade 4 or above in English and Maths and 43% get Grade 5 and above in English and Maths. 39.7% of students achieved at least one Grade 7 – way above the national average of 26.2% – and 93% achieved at least one grade 4 compared to the national average of 76.3%.

About the results, headteacher Julia Polley says “I am delighted that the hard work has paid off for our Year 11s. They were an amazing year group and all have achieved the grades they need. They were my first full cohort from Year 7-11, so I’m extremely proud that they now have such a fantastic conclusion to a challenging year.”

We hope you enjoy these lovely images we were able to capture at school this morning.
