Success at hockey and a new website launched!

6th October 2017

In the summer term you may remember we had a videographer in school and we spent a very enjoyable day being filmed for our video prospectus. Well, after many months of hard work and tweaking, we were finally able to ‘go live’ on Wednesday. I have been overwhelmed by the response from students and parents, who have been busy scrolling and reading our new site. It is important to recognise that for prospective parents, students and staff the website is often the first port of call so it must accurately reflect who we are and what we stand for.

Over the next few weeks there are  further changes, including some new signs and a very exciting post-16 offer for 2018.

In other news,  this year we have already had sporting success with Henry Wiltshire and Sam Margetts being selected for U13 Area Football, along with Michael Dent and Adam Morland- U14 and Lee Thompson for U15. In hockey the girls managed to secure a second place in the area hockey competition, notable victories against Northallerton 8-0 (Hannah Mullard 4) and Queen Mary’s 2-0 (Jess Johnson 2) They have now qualified to represent Hambleton and Richmondshire area in the North Yorkshire tournament. An outstanding team effort and testament to all their hours of training over the years!!

Finally, a huge thank you to the Managing director and team at R and J Butchers and Farmers in Kirby Malzeard. They hosted our Yr 13 A level Business students for a fascinating factory tour and a very in depth chat with the MD, about all aspects of businesses from production to finance. A thoroughly useful and  engaging morning which will stand them in good stead for the forthcoming exams.
