An Italian half-term adventure

17th March 2023

For the spring half term break, 49 students from Years 8 – 11, had an amazing adventure on a ski trip in Italy. Thirty hours of coach and ferry travel landed the students and six staff in the beautiful ski resort of Piancavallo, in the Dolomite mountains in northern Italy.

While immersing themselves in Italian culture, food and language, the students got the chance to try out a number of different activities including sledging, skating and roller coasting. But the main event was the skiing, which they were able to do on each of the five days.

PE and Sports teacher, Jon Berry, said, “School trips like these are great as they not only give our students an insight into other cultures and let them try out new things, but they teach them independence from home and living with others, which are important life skills. Everyone had an incredible time – it’s an experience we’re not likely to forget in a hurry.”
